YOUR ISSUES.

OUR PRIORITIES.

Healthcare

DDG advocates for a healthcare system that is fully accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of individuals with hearing loss. This includes expanding access to qualified sign language interpreters, increasing access to health insurance and treatments for veterans, improving provider communication training, promoting culturally competent care, and ensuring equal access to health information and services.

Science & Technology

DDG supports the development and adoption of emerging technologies that enhance communication, accessibility, independence, and allow individuals with hearing loss to fully participate in society. DHC encourages innovation in assistive devices, communication platforms, AI platforms and scientific research that improve quality of life and reduce barriers faced by individuals with hearing loss.

Education

DDG promotes equitable access to high-quality education for Deaf and hard of hearing learners at all levels, regardless of background. This includes advocating for inclusive classroom practices, increased funding for Deaf universities and institutions, expanded access to bilingual education (including sign language access), accessible learning materials, and increased support for educators and families.

Foreign AssistANCE

In regions impacted by current global conflicts or natural disasters, individuals with hearing loss often face heightened risks due to communication barriers and limited access to emergency services. DDG continues to advocate for increased funding in foreign aid to help ensure that humanitarian response efforts are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the unique needs of these individuals and  communities.
